Incorporated in 1973 and commenced operation in 1975, Friesland campina wamco Nigeria plc was formerly known as West Africa Milk Company Nigeria PLC (WAMCO). It is an affiliate of Royal Friesland foods of The Netherland, headquartered in Ikeja, Lagos, the company produces and sells a wide range of branded dairy products and fruits based drinks for the consumer market.

De United foods industries limited was incorporated in 2001 as a private limited liability company and later became a public limited liability company in 2008. Dufil prima foods became a holding company of the group in 2008 after a major restructuring.
